Ohio

Books by the Banks is the Ohio book festival this research could verify with a current date. Its site says the 2026 festival is Saturday, November 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Main Library of the Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library, 800 Vine Street in downtown Cincinnati. It promises more than 100 authors, panels on reading, writing, and publishing, and a Family Fun Zone with crafts and story times. A writing contest in prose and poetry, for teens and adults, uses the theme “Bridges.” The Ohioana Library’s book-festival URL still displayed a 2017 post when fetched, so a current Ohioana festival date is not stated here. The State Library of Ohio is the state library agency.

Books by the Banks describes itself as an all-volunteer nonprofit regional festival inside a public library. That setting matters: the address is a library building, not a fairground. The Family Fun Zone and the author panels share the same day. The writing contest and a cover-art contest, both on the Bridges theme, are extra ways to take part before the Saturday itself. The site’s volunteer list, from kids’ areas to stage help, shows how the day is staffed. An older line about 2024 author submissions should not be confused with the 2026 date at the top of the page.

The Ohioana page titled “Ohioana Book Festival” resolved, but the article on it is dated April 6, 2017, and describes an earlier festival at a Columbus hotel. A banner elsewhere on the Ohioana site, saved with that page, pointed to a 2026 Ohio Book Awards ceremony by Zoom on October 15, 2026. That is an awards event, not proof that the book festival still follows the 2017 pattern. This guide therefore does not assign Ohioana a 2026 festival weekend.

Use booksbythebanks.org for Cincinnati on November 14. Use the State Library of Ohio site for state library services, and use Ohioana’s current pages only for programs those pages actually date. No other Ohio festival was verified. Parents can use the Family Fun Zone description when deciding whether to bring children to the library that Saturday. Keep Ohio festival plans and everyday library errands on the separate links in this entry, then recheck both.
